Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Launched in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain extension is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At first, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to purchase john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can order your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to modify the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular conditions on who can secure a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
